The Monitor Audio C1L is the largest Tier 1 in-ceiling speaker in the Creator Series, designed to deliver powerful, room-filling sound while blending discreetly into both residential and commercial interiors. Combining exceptional acoustic performance with flexible installation, it's an ideal choice for multi-room audio systems, media rooms, open-plan living spaces and premium commercial environments where sound quality and aesthetics are equally important.
At its core, the C1L features a substantial 9-inch C-CAM bass/midrange driver partnered with a 1.25-inch C-CAM tweeter incorporating Monitor Audio's UD Waveguide technology. This advanced driver combination delivers deep, controlled bass, detailed midrange and smooth, natural high frequencies with wide, even sound dispersion. Whether you're streaming music, enjoying television or creating an immersive home cinema experience, the C1L provides balanced, engaging audio throughout the room.
With an impressive frequency response of 30Hz to 25kHz, 88dB sensitivity and power handling of 75W RMS (150W peak), the C1L offers exceptional dynamics and clarity across a wide range of listening levels. From subtle background music to high-energy movie soundtracks, it delivers effortless performance with remarkable scale and precision.
Designed for installations where a larger in-ceiling speaker is appropriate.
A flush-fitting magnetic grille helps the speaker blend into the ceiling.
Suitable for use with compatible amplification in appropriately designed multi-room audio and home cinema systems.
Designed with installation in mind, the C1L incorporates Monitor Audio's Quik-Link cable connector for faster, more reliable wiring, while the Tri-Grip II mounting system ensures a secure, vibration-resistant installation in a wide variety of ceiling constructions. These innovative features simplify installation without compromising long-term reliability.
The Monitor Audio C1L is worth considering for larger kitchens, open-plan living areas and multi-room audio projects where a larger in-ceiling speaker is appropriate. Compared with the C1M, the C1L uses a 9-inch rather than 7-inch C-CAM mid-bass driver and has a higher published sensitivity rating. It also requires a larger ceiling cut-out, so installation space should be considered early in the design. The right choice depends on the room, listening preferences, required output and available ceiling space.
Monitor Audio Creator Series ceiling speakers offer a range of high-quality, in-ceiling audio solutions designed for versatile applications. These speakers feature advanced C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminum/Magnesium) drivers, including mid-bass drivers and tweeters, which provide exceptional sound clarity and detail. Creator Series ceiling speakers are ideal for both residential and commercial installations.
